Caring for Children, Youth & Families
Foster Care

Children enter foster care through no fault of their own. Just as each child is unique, so is their situation and experience.Â
Foster Families Needed
When families in the community open their homes to children in need, it has a life-changing impact. Each foster family, each home, the physical care they provide, and the relationship and emotional support they freely give is unique. However, all foster families have one thing in common – they offer love and hope to children when they need it most.

Cottage Care
School-age children reside in neighborhood-style homes on our campus with house parents who create a nurturing and stable environment. They offer emotional support, supervision, and guidance to assist children in developing essential life skills, self-worth, and a strong sense of belonging.
Children attend public schools, participate in extra-curricular activities, attend church, have chores, and vacation as a family.Â
Service Area
With a main campus in Buncombe County and satellite campus in Transylvania County, most of the children we serve are from Western North Carolina. However, we are licensed to serve children from any county in North Carolina.
Independent Living
In 2008, we began offering continued care to older youth who wished to further their education and/or obtain job skills. Youth benefit from coaching, encouragement, and other support systems while attending college, vocational schools, and/or participating in our on-campus apprenticeship program.Â
Apprenticeship Program
Youth participate in a year-long training program that includes hands-on experience on our campus and a paid internship with a community partner. After completing the program, youth are often offered continuing employment with the sponsoring partner. Â
